April showers for sure. We have had solid rain for what feels like forever and finally a tiny break this weekend - couldn't be happier to have a lazy day to be able to head to the lake to walk. I chose to go SOOC on these - no editing - just because.
Hellooooo March! Was supposed to be in beautiful Vermont this weekend, but with the frigid temps we decided to postpone till the fall. We knew we were taking a risk planning trip in winter, but were hoping for temps at least in the 30s! So back here in Chicago it's a lazy day spent learning my new Leica D-Lux Type 109, lunch and vintage shopping and a headshot with Amanda, a stop by the beach was so cold I needed some hot cocoa when I got home! March is proving to come in like a lion, let's hope it goes out like a lamb!

Just an average Saturday - was traveling for work on Friday... Trust me, nothing to see at Newark airport.
I have decided to do my ten photos on a weekend even when the tenth falls on a weekday because on a day like today, I wouldn't even be able to think about taking a photo I was so busy at the office. Besides, the weekends are way more photogenic! So this is my Sunday : woke up to John Legend singing me "good morning" : brunch with my amazing friend Laura who just finished her last round of chemo (yay!) and I had to get a photo of her in the adorable pink monkey cap - on loan from a friends daughter (how sweet is that?) : took a little photo walk downtown and captured a couple of spots I have been searching for - this view of where all the L train lines come together (love) : then some shopping at West Elm, and Jayson Home (oh this place is a designers dream) where I picked up a beautiful little fern and a succulent - had no idea they aren't to be watered and are to just die after a few months (hmmm) : picked up some pastries at Patisserie Coralie for dinner and then logged a little sofa time with Phoebe and the housewives of ... (wink)
I decided to document my travel day this past Sunday. From sunny San Diego to gray, very windy Chicago. It was a long day of travel and I have to say I was very sad to leave the beautiful temps in SD. I may have to "snow bird" like the old folks. Hope you had a lovely day. Here's my ten on travel.
A lazy Saturday that ended with great music. Not bad. Here's to a new year of ten on ten! All shot on my newest camera crush - the Fuji x-t1. I have officially made the jump to mirrorless to lighten the load and am quickly falling in love with my new picture takin' partner!
Ten on Ten once again!! Boy I have been a very bad blogger! I just realized my last post was 10 on 10 LAST MONTH (eeks!). I Must do better! I am a solid month behind on posting my Fat Mum Slim challenge photos and have certainly taken photos of life happenings in the last month. Oy! Anyhoo, I had a great time running around on Saturday snapping photos here and there along with some time at home getting the final touches of holiday to-dos done! Oh how I just love the holidays!
Vintage sleds - just like I used to have as a kid - outside a great antiques shop here in e-town Beach grasses - it was cooooold and windy by the lake today too! Some evergreen at the most adorable tree stand near the firehouse on Chicago Ave El train details Rolling waters on the shore - many shades of gray in the winter (boo) Christmas cards - addressed and ready to hit the post The most lovely vintage pillow cover (never knew these existed) reading "Good Night" Stars on my gold tree (yes... I have a gold tree and I love it!) Sculpture on the Nature Boardwalk in Lincoln Park - met some instagrammers there for loads of photos Then headed off to Lincoln Park Zoo lights ... soooo many people in there!
