Had a superb Saturday filled with friends! Amanda and I hit the Willmette French Market to pick up a gift I had custom made by one of the vendors of the flea market from last week. Then we hit this little bakery, Lawrence Deans, I've driven past about a thousand times but have never made it in... and it was great! I think I may have found our new 'local' cupcake spot! Then it was off to watch my coworker, Marcey's, field hockey match at Northweatern. She's pretty damn good! And they won! Next up was dinner with the girls downtown in the 'viagra triangle.' And let me tell you, I could sit out there and people watch all night! It's fabulous! And topped off the night over cocktails with the Robinsons and Bernard!!
I really should have done my 10 on 10 challenge today with all this fun, but I'm kind of a stickler for keeping it on the 10th.
P.S. super icky photo, out of focus and all, but sometimes selfies are like that ... you know!?

207 & 206
206 I took a walk along the lake to decompress from a very busy week. I really do love living so close to the lake! I bought a beach pass this year and intend to put it to good use!! I need to take advantage of my surroundings, don't ya think?
207 a pretty little flower from the box in front of Treat Nail Salon where I finally got a fresh pedicure! Because I know you care that I got my toes done... ha! :)

And let's just talk about yesterday's photo... It was crap. So, I ran it through the stripe app and got this fun graphic. It's my first true fail on the 365 photo challenge. Not bad six months in...

211 flea market finds
I ventured to St. Charles for the Kane County Flea Market today with Amanda. I am not a huge fan of flea markets since I'm not really into vintage stuff. I like a little here and there, but I kind of feel like ... if I'm going vintage it should mean something to me. That said ... I will go anywhere just for the experience. And I had heard this flea market was particularly good.
I was totally impressed with the amount of vendors - LOTS! And I managed to pick up some fabulous little treasures. A vintage light meter (how cool is that for eight bucks?), a collection of "Y" letterpress blocks, a super cool handmade bag (because I need another bag like I need a hole in the head -- but it's cool) and then the steal of the show... a vintage chevron quilt. I spotted it and originally passed it by and then circled back. I have been talking with my mother about making me something like this and voila! As you can see the kitties have already adopted it. Lucy is lounging on it as I type!
I give the Kane Co. Flea two thumbs up!
