253 super sunday

Spent the morning with my friend Robin. We have been planning this
outing for almost two months now, so it was good to finally get it on the
books and make it happen!! We had brunch at the tapas place, Cafe
Ba Ba Reeba - the cinnamon french toast was spectacular. But, in true
tapas fashion, it was a single piece of french toast - I could have eaten
three!!

We headed around the corner to make custom 1154 lill bags. This was
the first time I've actually done this, Robin has like ten of these bags.
It's fun, you pick the bag shape and then all of the fabrics. I chose two
bags { I just couldn't choose } the Lexie in navy and steel gray and the
Sophie in two black fabrics with the accents in red. Luckily I had a
Living Social coupon and the Lexie was on sale! Woot!

One last mission for the afternoon was to ride the Navy Pier ferris wheel. I purchased a groupon for
tickets and it's up this coming Friday. Ridiculous I left it till the very last minute, but whatever! Sadly, the
wheel was not running because it was hella windy, so I guess I will have to try to make it down some
night this week. Boo!

On a completely unrelated note ... I was thumbing through my mountain of magazines and Martha Stewart
inspired me to whip up some homemade pasta. Put my Kitchen Aid attachment to work and it was SO
much better than that crank machine! Oh it was so good!!! 'Twas a super Sunday! Hope yours was too!

Had a positively lovely Saturday! Woke up to the sun streaming in and just lounged around catching up on some DVR in bed. I love it when I don't have early morning plans!! Once I got myself up and going, I finished two photobooks - a groupon I had purchased that actually expired (oops!) and they gave me two more weeks (yeah!) to complete my books.

Then it was off to the resale shop to donate FOUR bags of clothes that have been piling up forever. I keep thinking I'll take them to a consignment shop to get a few bucks out of them, but never seem to make it there. So, today, I decided to part with them once and for all. It actually felt good.

Last up I headed downtown for the earlybird dinner at Quartino's with the Pittman crew. Dinner was delish as was the company. We had to eat before Bella's last chess game of the day, which she won! Way to go B!! I walked back to the car so that I could snap a few city pics. Enjoy!

Sloane was cracking me up making funny zerbert sounds - she's such a happy baby!

TGIF!!! It's been a long week and I cannot tell you how happy I am that the weekend has arrived. Sadly, the weather is not cooperating. It's so cold it feels like Fall. Look! I'm still in a turtleneck! That's unacceptable in April, don't you think?

I'm how many days into this 365 day challenge and I am finding that my life is just not that photogenic. I mean, sometimes I do amazing, super fun, photo inspiring things. But when you look at the day-to-day, not so much.

I am a graphic designer. I sit in front of a computer all day, every day. I am finding it difficult to find the "beauty" in this ... so back to the beach I went today. The sky was stunning - somewhat angry, but the blue from the sky to the water created the most beautiful gradient effect. { love }

Beautiful blue skies are a welcome sight after two days of gray. I am so ready for summer!!

260 moving day

I have decided to move my blog back to Blogger. I have been struggling with the what to do since they announced the acquisition of Posterous to Twitter. I truly hope they keep the Posterous site up and running (because I love it), but they have been plagued with problems in the last few weeks and no longer respond to help requests - not a good sign.

It has been a very difficult transition. Posterous does not allow for exporting. WordPress.com is supposed to import Posterous blogs, but I found it only pulled data from 2011 to present. Not sure what I will do with my posts that go back as far as 2009. Hopefully when Posterous does go under, they will provide us with a way to keep all of our data.

Initially I I thought I'd use WordPress.com, but I cannot stand their interface. It's clunky and does not consistently pull data from other sources - I had photos of all shapes and sizes and no idea how to get them the way I wanted without removing and re-uploading. No thank you! So, it's back to Blogger. I am still on the fence about self-hosting via WordPress and may go that way someday, but since I follow a lot of Blogger blogs, I thought this might be the easiest way to go. Seems funny to come full circle - I started my first blog on Blogger back in 2004.

I will likely continue to post here till it goes belly up, but will officially move to yf.yffoto.com. Please come visit me at my new home!
